Baby Jack

Well world, here he is: Jack David Hughes will be named after his dad, grandpa, great grandpa and great-great grandpa. And I don't care what anyone says, these don't make him look like an alien!! He's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen! I'm one proud momma.

This a 3D picture of his face. His little right hand is up by his face partially covering his mouth. And he's got a little button nose that looks just like his Aunt Ericka.

This is a profile picture and he's got his fingers in his mouth. We're going to have a thumb sucker!

His bum is on the far left (part of it looks black) and you can see his little boy parts there in the middle. The bubble above that is the umbilical cord.

These are from our 21 week appointment and I am now at 30 weeks. So he's grown quite a bit since then. Not that he wasn't big to begin with...

At every visit we've had so far Jack and I have been measuring almost two weeks ahead of where the norm is. And no he's not just really long . His head and stomach circumference are almost two weeks ahead too. Which means that we'll either end up with a 12 pound baby or his gestational age is just a little older than we thought and he may end up coming before his due date. I'm leaning toward him coming early but that's just because I have to carry and deliver him. Jared is keeping his fingers crossed for a big baby. His motto is the chubbier the better. Everyone immediately jumps to the conclusion that he's big because Jared and I are big but that's not necessarily true. Because we were both average sized babies the doctor has been leaning toward him coming a little earlier than his due date. But who knows, maybe he'll come on his due date and be an average size and everyone will be surprised.

Everything has been going so well with the pregnancy. Jack and I are both doing great. And so is Jared for that matter. He's getting really excited to be able to play with the baby. Right now the most he can do is talk to and poke him and get him all riled up (which he loves to do right before bed). Jack is very active and he spends a lot of his time jamming his feet up under my ribs which is horribly uncomfortable, especially since he has such long legs, but I love feeling him move around in there. There isn't anything quite like it. My favorite is when he gets the hiccups. And he has them a lot. He's getting big enough that we can just sit and watch my belly moving.

I decided to include some pictures of my growing belly too. Don't judge me; he's a big baby. But I am beginning to wonder where he's supposed to go in the next two months... Everyone pray with us that he comes a little earlier than February 16th.
